TENCEL® and Lenzing Modal®: Innovative, Efficient Eco Fibers

Though our partnership with Lenzing Fibers, Koni Corporation offers a range of products made from their innovative fibers TENCEL® and Lenzing Modal®. Both of these fibers are 100 percent natural, made from wood pulp cellulose and are biodegradable, yet each possesses qualities that are beneficial in different product applications. For instance, the superior absorption and softness Lenzing Modal® offers makes the fiber ideal for toweling and terry products, while TENCEL® is used in a broad range of products including sheeting, bedding, drapery, upholstery and fillings.

Organic Cotton: The Natural Choice for Bath and Bedding

Organic cotton's qualities are similar to those of conventionally grown cotton, but, due to the sustainable methods used in its production, organic cotton farming has little impact on the environment. Cotton makes up half the globe's textile sales and conventionally grown cotton consumes approximately 25% of the insecticides and more than 10% of the pesticides used globally. Conversely, organic cotton production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic chemicals and builds biologically diverse agriculture. Organic cotton fabrics are beautiful, soft, absorbent and resilient without the use of harmful pesticides. Koni Corporation offers a range of organic cotton products including bedding ensembles, linens, decorative pillows, towels and other bath products.

Recycled and Recyclable Polyester: Eco-friendly, Adaptable Synthetic Fabrics

Use of recycled polyester fibers benefits our environment by conserving our non-renewable resources. Eliminating some of the processes needed to produce virgin synthetics reduces the amount of energy and oil used and limits the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Recycled polyester fiber is derived from recycled plastic containers, and products made from recycled polyester can also be recycled at the end of their lifespan. In addition, products made from 100% polyester can also be recycled after use.

Bamboo: Ideal for Towels and other Terry Products

Made from bamboo pulp, bamboo fiber has many unique properties and positive attributes: it is light yet durable, has excellent wicking properties and is antibacterial. Bamboo fiber resembles cotton in its unspun form, a puffball of light, airy fibers. To make bamboo fiber, bamboo is heavily pulped until it separates into thin component threads of fiber, which can be spun and dyed for weaving into cloth. Bamboo also has many antibacterial qualities, which bamboo fabric is apparently able to retain even through multiple washings; it has excellent wicking ability and can take up to three times its weight in water. As a natural cellulose fiber, bamboo is 100% biodegradable and the decomposition process does not cause any pollution in the environment.
